Frequently asked questions

For any more questions contact us at info@titan-maps.com or use our contact form.

About the Map

What exactly is the Map of the Literature?

It’s a huge illustrated world that shows 5,000 years of books and writers like countries on a map. It’s printed as a museum-grade art piece, made to last for decades.

How is it organized — by time or genre?

Both. The map has five continents for Prose, Poetry, Drama, Non-fiction, and Graphic literature. The timeline starts at the center with the world’s first stories and expands outward to the present day. For a deeper look at how it works, visit our about the project page.

Is it accurate and reviewed, or just artistic?

Yes — it’s both accurate and artistic. The map was researched for many months using real literary data and academic sources before being illustrated by Martin Vargic. It’s been praised by scholars and teachers, including Latino Book Review, which wrote that it “offers both knowledge and aesthetic: part atlas, part artwork.”

Does it include global literature, not just Western authors?

Absolutely. The map represents world literature — from every continent, including Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, not just Europe or the U.S.

Will I find my favorite author? What if someone is missing?

The map includes thousands of names, but no single poster can include everyone. If an author you love is missing, it’s usually due to space or legibility limits. We log requests for future updates.

Why include “the” in the name?

In cartography, the often denotes a complete domain (e.g., the world, the oceans). This map portrays the entire literary world, so the literature is intentional.

Is it up-to-date?

Yes. This is the new 2025 Edition, featuring new additions and corrections based on the latest literary research.

Orders & Shipping

Do you ship worldwide?

Yes! We ship almost everywhere in the world, with fast and secure tracked delivery.

Please note: we currently do not ship to P.O. boxes, Russia, Belarus, India, military bases, or certain very remote locations.

Can I ship the order as a gift?

Definitely. Many customers buy it as a meaningful present for readers, teachers, and book lovers. You can even ship it directly to the recipient — no prices are shown on the packing slip. However, we’re currently not able to include any custom gift notes with the order.

How long will it take to get my orders?

Processing (production) takes 2-3 business days for rolled posters and 3-6 business days for framed posters.

Once shipped, delivery times are as follows:

  • Standard Shipping: 2–7 business days worldwide
  • Express Shipping: 1–3 business days worldwide

In total, you can generally expect your order within 3-12 business days, depending on your shipping method and product type.

Is it suitable for classrooms or libraries?

Absolutely. Many teachers and professors use it as a visual teaching tool or centerpiece for discussion. It sparks curiosity, helps students see context, and doubles as a striking piece of décor.

Is the map available anywhere else?

No — the Map of the Literature is available exclusively here on Titan Maps. You won’t find it in stores or on other websites.

Can I buy a digital version?

No — we don’t sell the digital files separately.
But every order of the Map of the Literature poster includes a Digital Companion Pack for personal study with:

– A full-resolution artwork file (with a light watermark)
– An exclusive wallpaper set for phones and computers.

What is it printed on?

Each map is printed on museum-grade, 230gsm archival matte paper with long-lasting inks — the same quality used in professional art prints. It’s built to stay vibrant for decades.

Is it readable? Which size should I choose?

Yes — it’s printed in crystal-clear detail and ultra-high resolution, so even the smallest text stays sharp. However, because the map includes thousands of names, we always recommend the larger size for the best viewing experience.

How is the map packaged?

Framed posters are shipped in protective bubble wrap and durable cardboard. Print-only posters are wrapped in tissue paper and rolled into durable shipping tubes.

What’s your return policy?

100-day satisfaction guarantee. You may return a product within 100 calendar days of delivery and you will receive 100% refund. The customer is responsible for the return shipping cost. Read full policy here.

If your order arrives damaged: we’ll replace it immediately at no cost. Just send photos within 7 days so we can file it with the carrier.

The Most Innovative Map I've Ever Seen!

This literary map is the perfect gift for the bibliophile in your life (though, I admit, I bought mine for myself)! This is such an innovative idea & the only kind of map I'd ever buy for myself. So clever & amazingly detailed. I also love the three lists included (Best Selling Authors of All Time, Best Selling Books of All Time & The Best Books lists). Thank you for creating such a cool map! I'm going to put it in a place of honor in my office & library.

My Favourite Wall Art - Ever

I moved house recently and knew there was one wall in my office that needed the Wow factor. I am really happy to have discovered the Map of the Literature which I finally managed to get put up yesterday.

I will never regret buying this beautiful “gift to myself”! I absolutely love it and so does everyone who has already seen it. It’s right next to my desk so I expect to read every single detail over time. A lovely way to avoid working :-)

    Thank you!

    Beautiful Colors-Framing slightly off

The map is beautiful. The colors are vibrant and there is so much detail. When it arrived, it was well packaged. However, the map inside does not sit completely flat and is bubbly in places. I’m going to have to take it to a local framework artist to have it flattened. For that much money I wish that was a little bit better. I would still buy this map, but I would make sure to send an extra note to have them triple check it before sending it. To send it back would just be such a huge pain due to it size. I’ve already spent a lot of money on this. I would recommend getting one. It is super cool. I just wish that it sat flat in the frame.
